Splack on a Sun Ultra 10 Workstation

Hardware compatibilityHi there!!,

I have a Sun Ultra 10 440Mhz Workstation. I have succesfully installed on it Splack 8.0 (2.4.18 kernel at the moment). It works fine as all my SlackWare Intel distributions have done (since version 3). However I can\'t configure and start the X server. I have read a lot of documentation on the web but I can\'t find the key.

It seems that the Video Card comes from Elite3D but the kernel identifies it as ATI Mach64. What\'s wrong? Could you help me?

Thanks in advanced.

Sorry about the delay, I had to dig in the archives for this bug.

The video chipset in the U5 and U10 is Mach64 but the version of
XFree86 in Splack-8.0 does not support this chipset.
You need to remove the XFree86 packages and replace it with the
packages at
ftp://ftp.splack.org/pub/splackbackup/splack-current/pasture/XFree86-3.3.6

You will also need my /etc/X11/XF86Config which I will put up for you at
ftp://ftp.splack.org/pub/splack/devel/crn/

Hopefully this issue will be go away when -current is released.
