GCC 3.x.x for Splack Linux for SPARC64

VersionsHas anyone built a native sparc64 linux GCC of version > 2.9x, hopefully GCC 3.x.x. I\'d like to upgrade my splack linux box to GCC 3.x and I\'m having problems building it using tools such as crosstool.

Thanks...

Colin

I compiled one. I just used the settings in the build script in the splack source tree (source/u/gcc64) to compile gcc-3.3.6. I haven't tested it on anything substantial yet. Unfortunately, it only makes statically-linked binaries. I think it's just so that you have something to compile the kernel with.
I've also been trying other versions of gcc: 3.4.6, 4.0.3 and 4.1.1. The 32-bit builds of 3.3.6 and 4.0.3 seem to be OK.
My machine is very slow, though. It's a 143MHz Ultra 1, so it takes ages to compile.
