Ultra 5 fast data access miss

Hardware compatibilityHi, I am trying to install splack 8 on a ultra5 400MHz. Booting from cdrom fails because \"fast data access MMU miss\". any workaround?

This is almost always caused by a faulty cdrom or drive.
Try booting with a known good Solaris cd, if this works the drive is OK and your Splack CD is bad.

If the Solaris CD fails try replacing the drive, it is a standard IDE drive so you can borrow one from any PC.

If both of the above fail you either have faulty memory (try reseating it) or a bad mother board (tough luck).
